Back to That Place II: The Update.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

The Biopsy is Back

MD Anderson called yesterday morning; the biopsy from the lymph node of my right lung is back. There are NO CANCER CELLS  detected. This is HUGE

I am in humble awe of the Power of God. I know that this spot in my lung has explicitly been prayed over.

I am Living Proof that God Heals

We asked for specific prayers of healing. It was incredibly moving how many of you showed up and prayed boldly. From laying hands, fasting, and daily petitions on our behalf, we have been flooded with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I can’t wait to share; I want everyone to know this same God loves them beyond comprehension and will hold you so tenderly.

I also want to share because I want everyone to witness the power of God. He is mighty in his word, and there is nothing he can’t do.

This is a picture of my personal journal entry from this past Monday, October 3rd:

Faith, Healing, Karly Renn, EGFR Lung Cancer

I wrote this while we were driving to MD Anderson. The Holy Spirit’s presence provided such peace; it is hard to explain. When we met with the Pulmonary team Monday morning, I tried hard to get them to agree it wasn’t cancer. They remained optimistic but truthful. Certain physical factors leaned more towards metastasis. Josh asked me after the appointment how I felt; I said, “It’s either cancer or it’s not, but it’s probably not.”

Next Steps

I will be returning to MD Anderson for a bone biopsy, and we never want to miss an opportunity to learn more about my specific mutation.  It is hard for me to explain fully, but the bone mets are far less problematic than progression to major organs. This is still a massive win for us at the moment. I will speak to my MD Anderson team next week; radiation will come before chemo; chemo is still on the table. I can go into details later, but a recent clinical trial shows promising results with adding the chemo; I also feel so fortunate to receive such advanced medical care.

And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Exodus 14: 13-14

I have such gratitude for every one of you. The boldness we have been surrounded with is nothing short of life-changing. We feel your presence, your prayers, thoughts, and grace. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
